Agreed. I have a golf buddy who does new film release promos. He said two things killed Cinderella Man,
1) it was a tremendous marketing mistake to have the trailer only show it as a ``boxing`` movie -- not exactly the most reputable sport since even Vegas does not take action on all the pro fights any longer.
2) the jackass star of the movie threw a telephone at a hotel worker because he couldn`t get a line out...not good for movie attendence, especially in the red states where the movie totally died.
He said the DVD will probably do very well since both of the above will be forgotten. The trend for more digital content and less event content (going to the movies) has been going on for a few years. If EDIG can get a seat at the table for the next wave of ``how we get movies,`` it could truly be a blockbuster deal, IMO. Obviously, we do not have any of the dollar details. So, we will wait. At least this time there were a few bones thrown our way to pick.
