When e.Digital formats a device, part of the detail is to test memory first to see if any cells of the memory are faulty, if they are, they have the ability to mark them in their logical format.
Unlike others, if 1 cell was bad, the whole erase block was abandoned.
One of the most important considerations for e.Digital is, their format and use of the memory is totally independent of the erase block..... and read/write block. This is the part others will have a hard time working around....and the reason that allows for the utility of their file management.
