Hi. My name's Ed Falvey, and I'm part of Fidelity's Active Trader Pro team.

We built Active Trader Pro (ATP) for people who are serious about trading and demand a very fast and flexible trading platform.

At the same time, for an active trading application, we think it's remarkably easy to use; that's by design.

Customization

We know every trader is different. So, if you're used to trading on something that looks more like the console of a 747, you can do that. Basically, throw everything on this platform you want to. Save as many as twenty of your own trading layouts.

If you want something turn-key, you can do that, too. Use one of the four pre-built layouts here. You can tweak and save these, too.

Customize where and what your toolbars display. Show or hide various components of the quote window, option chain or time & sales view. Set color preferences for various types of orders. For example, make your buys green and your sells red.

Monitoring the market

If you trade all day, Active Trader Pro keeps you totally plugged in.

Market data is real-time: streaming quotes, NASDAQ level 2 quotes, Option Chain, and Time & Sales, and streaming watch lists.

Interactive charting lets you analyze events as they happen. Draw trend lines, compare multiple securities, and select advanced studies and indicators. Display buy and sell orders, or even add your own notes.

To help you find opportunities faster, use our pre-built filters to focus on moving average crossovers, Bollinger Band Breakouts, up or down trending stocks, and more.

Monitoring your accounts

You need to know what you have to trade.

Active Trader Pro shows you real-time balances, positions, and profit and loss.

We also make sure you know exactly where all your orders stand. See what's open. Know when they're filled. Color code different kinds of orders, if that's helpful to you. Even cancel all orders at once.

Trade more efficiently

Active traders tell us all the time: Help us be more efficient. So, with Active Trader Pro, we really try to give you a lot more control.

If you're managing multiple accounts, the Active Trader Pro trade ticket helps you do it faster and easier. Choose and save default values, stage orders, or submit multiple orders at once. Place multi-leg options, trailing stop loss, trailing stop limit, or conditional orders.

Let's look at Directed Trading. Send your trades where you want: ARCA, a regional exchange, SuperMontage. With Archipelago and Instinet, you can start trading at 7:00 a.m. ET. And again, to keep things easy, you can make the Directed Trading ticket your default. It's a small feature, but it can make a big difference to you.
