Since you are a chart guy etc, what do you make of 17,600 traded yesterday as compared to daily vol since, lets say Oct 1st?

A couple of my friends who own this stock, 1 of which did so on my recommendation, felt the low vol a day before the Q is due, and with the SHM around the corner is a "bad sign" of which I disagreed, but from a technical point of view, what are your thoughts?
