Didn't know that. Lufthansa is an EDIG customer. I wonder if EDIG will be introduced to the JB people in that event we can't reference next week.

JetBlue–Lufthansa codeshare flights now bookable

October 01, 2009

Lufthansa customers can now book new codeshare flights with JetBlue Airways for flights on or after 11 November 2009.

From that date the US carrier will be providing seamless onward connections, which can then also be booked under a Lufthansa flight number, via New York and Boston to a number of destinations in the United States and Puerto Rico. These include: Austin, TX; Buffalo, NY; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Fort Myers, FL; New Orleans, LA; Pittsburgh, PA; Raleigh/Durham, NC; Rochester, NY; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL; West Palm Beach, FL; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“JetBlue is an innovative airline and with its attractive product it fits in very well with us,” remarked Götz Ahmelmann, vice president alliances, strategy & subsidiaries, Lufthansa. “Our passengers will greatly appreciate the extremely comfortable seats, the excellent service and the live satellite TV programmes available on individual seat-back monitors. They will be equally impressed by the service on the ground, and by the smooth, convenient transfer at the new state-of-the-art Terminal 5 at New York’s JFK Airport, JetBlue’s home base. This customer-friendly terminal also houses a wide range of restaurants, food outlets and shopping facilities.”

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) had already approved the co-operation agreement between Lufthansa and JetBlue. Today, Lufthansa has a 15.6% stake in JetBlue. The carrier, which is based in New York, currently offers 650 flights a day to a total of 56 cities.
