I did fail to mention one more answer to a question, concerning the "encryption patent pending."
It is at year 2, and I asked if 3 years was a deadline, and RP explained that's usually the time frame, but Q&A that goes back and forth sometimes delays the process. The work load of the patent office itself comes into play as well. Everything is moving along as one can expect.
I did not ask for a specific date of the next SHM, as that question could not be answered. Despite all the joking we did prior to the visit, "ask him this, ask him that" I was happy to hear an announcement would be made and the meeting will take place this calender year. I suggested he expect more than 50 people this time, and I gave a few reasons why, and he already was considering an alternate location to rent for the day, very close to the office.
Now I will give an opinion, and not from anything that was said, but just because a SHM was being planned, does not mean a tender offer could not be in the future. Anything is possible, so all options are open for consideration.
I still feel in my gut, this delay so that Samsung can take care of "obligations" by Oct 19, and the deal done by Oct 26, means something we are not expecting. The trade show is in 2 weeks, in 5 weeks and 1 day it will be Oct 26. JMO, that tells me the SHM will be before mid-Dec. What if, just what if, Samsung has an offer on the table by Oct 26, giving ample time to schedule the SHM before mid-Dec, mail/e-mail out proxy material for a vote to accept or reject, just as they did before the last SHM in which 1 of the items we voted on was to authorize 50 Mln more shares, and it was announced at the meeting itself 9/17/08, that all votes are now in, and each item has passed and now recorded. Two attendees voted at the meeting itself mind you, just to make it legal, as they had forgot...whatever.
Everyone has their own theory/senario, so this is mine.
It was a wonderful visit and I look forward to metting many of you at the SHM.
