``Also, explain please, that you do not need Ethernet-enbled
digE for swiping credit cards. That, I thought was the job of the OS, like LINUX, and not Ethernet capability...``
???
The wireless net work is for retrieving the data created and collected from the card swipe.
The card swipe used for the original hand held digEplayers...is a single unit collecting all credit card transactions...its wireless....and correlates... first a swipe of the FA ID card along with flight info....then a swipe of the ID card of the player unit...finally a swipe of a credit card.....a reverse sequence entry to the swipe is then entered upon collection of the units at the end of the flight...accounting for all units let out.
I have no idea what tech drives the swipe....or what security protects the data in it.
When the swipe is placed within the DigEplayer...they may be the same self contained wireless units...re devised eliminating two of the above...the FA ID card swipe along with the digEplayer unit ID card swipe.
FA`s will not have the responsibility of a possible missing unit.
Or the integration of the on board swipe might be devised into the platform of the player.
