GM is not far behind. Today, they are cash heavy and can maintain for the HUGE retooling they need to do to compete with Toyota. IMO, they simply do not have the gray matter to do it -- too many good ole boys that were part of the problem and too few mavericks to tell them the deals they cut with labor can no longer be funded.
The same thing is going on in the airline biz. While we all hope for good things from Wencor and they seem solid, the reality is the industry is weak and getting worse with every dollar increase in oil over ~$45, per the Delta CEO. The ``other than IFE`` pie in the sky is where we need a slice.
