First - I thought before that part of the content protection involved a proprietary port through which content would be loaded - in fact, I`m sure I`ve heard that from them in the past. Perhaps that has changed. It`s certainly possible if the content was already encrypted before load.

Second - The digEplayers are handed out, then collected and the battery must be changed/re-charged anyway. If they`ve been loading content via USB all along, it`s no big deal switching to Ethernet. It`s cheap and fast. Wireless would either underperform or be overkill in this situation.

Third - I think Wencor will market the portable and embedded players as two distinctly separate offerings with advantages and disadvantages to both even through they may share similar components or operational characteristics. How you or I might design it isn`t necessarily how they designed it although a modular design makes sense. I`m also not convinced that EDIG will be able to derive maximum benefit from an embedded system. We`re still waiting to see to what degree they are involved.
