51 million transistors. That`s a lot, isn`t it?

GIANT sound card player Creative Technology said its has made a chip which will bring better quality to the electronic audio market.

The X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio processor brings a lot more audio performance to recording and playing MP3 music, claimed Creative.

The 51 million transistor chip runs at over 10,000 MIPS, said Creative. It also has a multiple engine, and the firm said it was 24 times more powerful than the previous revision.

The firm will show off the type of applications using the audio processor at E3, which starts next week.
