What a great find of a case not dissimilar to EDIG's IP litigation.

To see a $200 million judgement happen to such a small and unknown firm certainly expands the range of dollar volumes we can consider.

I hope DM gets embolden by this development...but I am sure they are well aware of the potential at hand...HENCE their taking the case on a contingency basis.

Certainly their case has no direct bearing on EDIG but it gives us parameters for possibilities.

MSFT is the mother of all FUDsters and it would not surprise me at all if they don't systematically "intervene" in order to influence and monitor those that might threaten them.

This sure puts teeth in the small guy's war chest.

"Because the jury found Microsoft had willfully infringed the technology, the judge is allowed to increase a jury award by up to three times the value."

and I love this statement:

We told Microsoft about our product and were seeking a relationship with them, and instead of coming to the table with us they decided to make us obsolete. So I think that today's decision is vindication. We did the right thing. We built the right product. We tried to be friends, and when they didn't, we sued them and the jury agreed with us.”
