NEW YORK, April 20, 2009 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that corporate finance attorney Nanette C. Heide has joined the firm in its growing New York office. The addition of Heide, formerly a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, expands the firm's capabilities in the corporate securities and venture capital practice areas.
Heide is the 26th lawyer to join Duane Morris' New York office since December. She brings extensive transactional experience in a wide range of corporate finance matters, including institutional private placements; private equity and venture capital transactions; cross-border transactions; debt and preferred securities of numerous different structures; mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances; recapitalizations; secured and unsecured lending; and other debt and equity financings in domestic and international, public and private markets. Heide also has experience in the formation and regulatory compliance of private investment funds. She has counseled clients in out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings and chapter 11 proceedings, including complex toxic tort bankruptcy proceedings to resolve corporate asbestos and other toxic tort liability. Heide's clients include issuers, venture capital investors, institutional lenders and borrowers, as well as public and private (including start-up) companies where she has served as general outside counsel for corporate governance issues. Heide frequently presents at conferences on topics concerning corporate governance and regulatory issues.
In addition to Heide's private practice experience, she has served as general counsel and chief financial officer at a start-up focusing on Internet technology and at an information technology service provider. Her experience as a member of the executive team at both organizations included overseeing legal and financial matters.
Heide earned her J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1990, where she was editor-in-chief of the Washington and Lee Law News. She graduated with a B.S. in Economics in 1987 and a B.A. in Chemistry in 1986, both from West Virginia University.
