It you're going for X amount of settlement dollars regarding the total number of product sales that occurred or might continue to occur over a finite period of time, and can prove it with the strength of just one patent, why prove it on 3 accounts if the settlement number is the same?

This latest concern is much ado about nothing, imo.

And I would guess they are moving closer to either a settlement or a stronger, easier to prove/explain case to a jury.
