African international carrier Gabon Airlines is to start flying IMS Company handheld IFE players in its Boeing 767s within the next three months.
Based in Libreville, Gabon, the recent startup will offer IMS’ PAV-705 players in business and economy on routes to France, the Congo and South Africa in business and economy. The 7in-touchscreen players will provide seven feature-length films, eighteen and a half hours of other video programming, audio content and games. IMS is also supplying ground infrastructure and content management services.
“This order is very pleasing, following on as it does from yesterday’s announcement of our contract with Kuwait Airways, and given that it’s many months since any of our competitors announced any new business,” says IMS content managing director Michael Childers.
IMS Company will be showing its range of products and services on Stand 6B10 at next week’s Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg.
