In my book Samsung tried to intimidate DM, probably because of the proposed settlement amount, and DM in a nice way told them to stick it and reiterated the 17 detailed claims against them.

The scare tactics of a dozen or so lawyers and 100 or so pages of documentation didn't faze DM and will result in DM being more aggressive, I believe.

I think Samsung will take it all the way to the Markman ruling, perhaps reaching a settlement at that time, a strong probability, or go to trial in which case they may pay much more than they had anticipated, based on a positive jury verdict
