Stockholm-based holiday charter carrier TUIfly Nordic has selected Panasonic’s eFX audio/video-on-demand IFE system for installation in three Boeing 767-300s.
The first equipped aircraft is due to enter service next month. Pansonic says that its arrival will make TUIfly Nordic the first charter airline in the region to offer full in-seat AVOD.
“We’re making the largest investment ever in our cabins, including in-flight entertainment,” says communications manager Jim Hofverberg. “Our goal is to make travel with us as enjoyable as possible. This system will give our passengers a richer inflight experience, differentiate our brand and open up opportunities for inflight revenue generation.”
TUIfly Nordic’s nine-aircraft fleet – it also includes three 737-800s, two 757-200s and a 747-400 – operates from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland to the Canary Islands, Egypt, the Mediterranean, Turkey, Florida, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Mauritius, the Maldives and Thailand.
TUIfly Nordic is a member of the TUI Travel group. Another airline in the group, Thomson Airways, also uses Panasonic equipment.
