As for it`s use in flash...it allows them to manage in ways that others can not.
Consider this....now that you know of the overhead tables of the other systems...Inode and Index
e.Digital IP does not utilize them at all....that is where the power savings happens....with the elimination of overhead.....yet they can establish sequential recall....and on that system developed MOS.
