CHS(cylinder head sector)could be resembled as the mail system...comprised of the...POST office...your street name...your number on that street....the bios for MSFT utilizes this cumbersome method of addressing for hard drives....
LBA(logical block addressing)could be resembled as the mail system with one component the number on your home would be unique to the whole system.
This system is utilized by Unix type systems ie; Linux
and it manages LBA HDD.
So what we have here is MSFT with the cumbersome addressing scheme....however... the better data recovery scheme....compared to the Unix type system with the better addressing scheme.....with an overhead burdened data recovery scheme.....making one not better than the other.
Now when a MSFT type system is to be used in flash there has to be a translation of the different addresses this uses up power...Unix does not have to translate, however it`s segment storage is to cumbersome....and uses power.
the overhead of the two different systems utilized at the embedded level consume power.... BTW....the translation(FTL flash translation layer) of CHS to LBA needed for MSFT type os...is handled by Msystems.....my reason for stating that they must be holding there breath over the Samsung/MSFT deal....as they will not be involved.
I`m done too
