REF..MSFT news:
``(1)The original plans required users to purchase new hardware and software. Last year at WinHEC Microsoft reversed that decision.
Instead of shielding individual applications, (2)the technology would create secure compartments for elements such as the operating system, computing tasks and administration and management. This would take place in the drive
Although initially intended to ship as part of Longhorn, the secure compartments have now been pulled from the platform and will be released later. Still in the works but for the OS they prefer a seperat enviornment all together
Microsoft has kept quiet about the changes in the program. The company cancelled a session at WinHEC about technology titled How to build NGSCB-enabled systems, (3)replacing it with a session called How to build in support for secure startup.``

Number 1 was pulled and reconfigured to an alternative method....for being a burden on the consumer.
Number 2 as the second alternative creating secure compartments for elements ....was abruptly dropped as #1 was... there was no burden on the #2 method requiring for users to purchase new hardware and software.
Why did they drop it ?
my considerations as to what IMO the IP structure of e.Digital is capable of...where explained a long time ago...it would greatly enhance any OS.
Number 3....We now know that is a joint effort of Samsung and MSFT...on hard disk technology....utilizing flash to engage the HDD....placing LONGHORN elements within the flash..utilizing a security element instead of the HDD....the capability of e.Digitals IP in a flash environment would be complementary to number 2 in a scenario I gave.....Would Samsung have the same complement ? For other reasons they`re placing the elements on the flash instead of compartments in the HDD.
MSFT could have utilized flash technology of Intel to boot Longhorn from a flash environment....why are they switching to Samsung for developments ? IMO the flash configuration of Samsung/MSFT....is complementary to #2
e.Digital is capable of every thing going on there.
