IMO, one possibility would be the APS conection to Inflight Canada and their installation experience. They exhibited with APS last year when I beleive the digEsystem was first explained to potential customers.
My guess is the guts are all digEplayer plus CC reader (most of the same EDIG tech as digEplayer with EDIG`s CC reader, IMO), PLUS Inflight Canada`s expertise in seat installation & design. It is possible that EDIG did all the new engineering for the electronics, then Inflight Canada did all the mechanical engineering for the seat installation....one their primary services:

In addition, the Wencor PR touted many features, but the ability to exchange a unit on the fly (with a special tool for security) must be a very big advantage.
