At one point in time the Asian Mfg partner was Maycom. I believe that to still be the case. A question that might be entertained about the manufacturer of the embedded system might be ``Is it necessary that the manufacturer of an FAA approved embedded system be an FAA certified manufacturer and use only FAA certified components?`` The logic to me says that the manufacturer of the digEplayer would have to jump the same hurtles as the manufacturer of the digEsystem and that nothing would change. It could be that the DigEplayer did not have to go thru the same FAA evaluation and may be treated differently. It might be treated the same as a carry-on.
