Agreed on the tech involvement, though I would think the the EDIG IP ingredients for the system would include some of the older patents as well as the patent pending security ingredient - which I suspect is already in use for the portable.
As for manufacturer, I would strongly suspect they are the same, as the bulk of the hardware would be the same or very similar (just configured differently), and because we haven`t heard of any significant QA problems (i.e., no problems with these guys, so why stop using a proven supplier?). Last, and because of the foregoing, it would/should save a lot of time to production.
