Can't say that I don't understand how you feel, but these big companies won't get off the hook because economic times are tough.
Take Apple for example, sales might not be as good as a year or two ago, but they have 25 Bln in the bank. Their lawyer can't say to the judge, "times are tough with this recession and all, so we can't afford to pay a large award for being a thief and stealing this little outfits IP, which helped us make millions, so please give us a break."
My long time gardner/land scaper can't speak more than 20 words of English, barely gets by these days, yet he has a cell phone, digital camera and MP3 player. People just gotta have their gadgets, and the latest and greatest when ever a new item hits the streets, so I suspect this recession is less important.
I am like you however, not to set my goals too high or the timing too soon, but I feel we are in for some big surprises between now and the end of 2010.
All IMO of course.
