In response to your message (and the Moxa message to which you replied), I have a couple of comments.
While I`m not fully in Moxa`s court re: Wencor announcing, I am largely in agreement. Regarding announcements by each EDIG, Wencor and airline customers, my thoughts are:
EDIG, as you`ve read from me before - I see it only as advantageous for EDIG to announce orders (as received). It would bolster the viability of the company to other potential customers, as well as bolster the PPS which would be good for the company and its owners (us!). They wouldn`t really have a need to give airlines names; they`re not EDIG`s customer. They could mention Wencor (but why bother - we know).
Wencor, similar to the above - business begets more business. Announcing more airline customers as they are gained would bolster their business and speak for the viability and desireability of the system (er, portable).
Airlines (and this hits on points made by John) - this is not ``normal`` retail business for airlines. They typically aren`t dealing with impulse buyers, but instead people who deliberately plan a trip (business or pleasure) in advance - like sometimes months in advance. So say you`re an airline and you`ll have digEs on board all flights to ``someplaces`` in June. Wouldn`t you want to advertise that fact NOW to alert folks planning a vacation to that ``someplace``? Especially if competitors flights had IFE (and you didn`t), or better IFE than you offer today? Think that could influence some planning? I do, especially if we`re talking a many-hour flight.
JMHOs, and I KNOW nuttin`!
