Hot Topic: DeltaBeta Redux - OR - Paradigm Shifting With Henry!

We shared this story with our AIRFAX.com newsletter and realized that it is so refreshing and clever we thought our IFExpress readers might enjoy reading about JetStream as well. Leave it up to IFE long-timer Henry DeBey to give IFE its next paradigm shift. While sales of his innovative, networked-based IFE system never really made prime time, DeBey took his DeltaBeta team and looked at the IFE problem from a different perspective. DeltaBeta evolved from a product seller to a genuinely unique service operator. Heres what we wrote:

Just when you thought there were no new paradigms in IFE along comes Henry DeBey with a refreshing approach. If you have read his latest news release, you will note that he is focusing on the transaction side of the inflight equation. In a nutshell, Delta Beta will pay airlines to put their messages in front of airline passengers and pay handsomely at that. At $0.15 per passenger seat per hour, airlines can receive payouts as high as $500 per flight! Henry is of course looking at international traffic and the latest IFE technology because JetStream software needs card swipe and passenger entry capability. The newest Panasonic and Thales hardware should suffice. In an interview Mr. DeBey he also noted that domestic flights of 4+ are candidates. We asked an industry advertising expert about the revenue potential and he told us that JetStream has the potential of obtaining revenues from: 1) A piece of every online transaction from existing sites (e.g., Amazon, 1-800-Flowers) 2) Vendor payment for prominence in category searches (think Google) 3) Vendor banner ads that click through (provided that there is Internet access to the ground) 4) Transactions on Delta Beta-created sites designed expressly for passengers on that airline, going to that destination. We understand that Delta Beta is negotiating with a number of customers and it wouldnt surprise us if a few copy-cats show up as well. It is our presence in Silicon Valley that led us to explore and then embrace the eCommerce concepts that JetStream embodies. We have done a great deal of research into user take-up of JetStream and we have enough confidence in its revenue generation potential to essentially put our money where our mouth is. We are getting many requests for further information and we have already submitted three rough order of magnitude proposals to airlines for JetStream, Said Henry DeBey. Good Luck Henry!
