edig announced today 09/25/08 that a major electronics manufacturer has purchased the first license for its Flash-R(TM) patent portfolio. Under the terms of the confidential licensing and settlement agreement, e.Digital is receiving a one-time licensing fee and cross-license rights to certain patents covering multimedia-related products.

I just can't find any thing that indicates that this settlement is big or big enough. I would think even if it is condidential if the deal is big it would have said Edig signed a multi million deal with a major electronics firm but the terms of the deal will remain confidential.

My gut feeling the amount is less than a million but what they got was the yeast needed for this dough to rise.

Since Edig needs the cash right now I guess this settlement will pay off some of DM's overhead and puts some cash in Edigs pocket.
