Four companies comprise the Aero Technologies Group: Wencor West, Kitco, Durham and Daniels.
Wencor West was founded in Miami in 1955 as Wencor, where it supplied seals, o-rings and gaskets, and performed FAA-approved repairs. In 1982 Wencor moved its operation to Utah and became known as Wencor West. (Wencor West is still often referred to as Wencor.) In 1983 Wencor West received FAA repair station approval for its Utah location, and in 1989 Wencor received its first FAA-PMA authority. As of 1997, Wencor has FAA-PMA authority to manufacture over 600 parts. Wencor is also a stocking distributor of over 30,000 parts, with over 2,000 customers worldwide, including over 250 airlines.
Kitco, Inc. was founded in Provo, Utah in 1970. Kitco`s original products were simple fastener and o-ring repair kits for military aircraft hydraulic, fuel and related systems. In the early 1980s, Kitco expanded its product lines into large aircraft structural modification kits and in-house mechanical assemblies. In 1986, Kitco built a new facility and located in Springville, along with Wencor West. A machine shop for highly specialized items was added in 1990, and in 1992 Kitco achieved its first licensing agreeement with an OEM. In late 1993, Kitco initiated partnering agreements with OEMs in material handling and production/integration kitting, and in 1996, Kitco obtained a license from McDonnell Douglas to support F-4 and A-4 spares worldwide.
Wencor West and Kitco, the original members of the Aero Technologies Group, were joined by Durham Aircraft Service, Inc. and Daniels Service Parts Co. (a division of Durham) in 1997.
Durham Aircraft Service, Inc. was founded in Flushing, New York in 1944. Its original products were hardware and war surplus administration. In 1958, Durham opened an office in Miami, and in 1959, Durham acquired Daniels. In 1977, Durham moved to Hicksville, New York. Durham is currently a stocking distributor for Weber, Stratoflex, Symetrics, Champion, Purolator, Facet, PTI, Eaton, and others.
Daniels Service Parts Co. was founded in Illinois in 1957, and was acquired by Durham in 1959. Daniels is currently a stocking distributor of fasteners, fittings and related aerospace products.
