I'm the president of board and there is a persistent basher I'd like to ban. I've been deleting posts... but enough is enough.

How do I do this?

Mzsmith, a board I'm a president on has had many bashers. Here is what I do:

Instead of deleting the post, report it as violation. "Report this message as a violation"

Then on the Hub Controls click on "Manage Violations".

When you get there, click on the message, you have three options: ignore violation, ban user, delete message.

You need "Ban User", the result is immediate. All of their messages are removed and their account is closed.

I also use this to delete messages, as it creates a history of deleted messages/user abuse for our other hub leader, so he can see what I'm doing.
