Late yesterday a big (very), beautiful female bloodhound showed up on my property. I called Cheatham County Animal Control and there's no one there this weekend. That's not the ideal solution anyway. Also spoke to a lady who runs the East Tennesse Bloodhound Rescue group and she said she would try and find someone to transport the dog to her in east Tennessee but I haven't heard back from her.
The dog is very friendly and scared. I have fed her several cans of cat food lots of dry cat food, a half a dozen eggs and half of a McDonald's sausage biscuit. She's ravenous.
I think she may have turned out to be too much dog for someone and they let her loose out in the country where I live, thinking that someone would take her in.
I have three outdoor cats that have been up in trees since the dog arrived.
If you know of anyone with a fenced yard who could pick up and care for the dog till a rescue organization can get her, please let me know via a reply message. Perhaps you might even know of someone who could provide a good home. :o)
