Going back a couple of days to the discussion of Terry Wisemans ``Wanna play pretend Rumor``. Remember this was the same guy that mentioned that the Digeplayer had some competition. He said something about green vegetables....aka ``Pea``

Here he brings up a company name ``Vapor Hookup`` Hookup is just another way of saying connection. Maybe ``Air Connexion``

Here`s the whole Rumor reprinted from your post.

``Q Wanna play Lets Pretend? Here goes: suppose a manufacturer of large airplane components started a new venture called Vapor Hookup that developed a wireless data system along with technology and engineering companies in the Midwest USA. The purpose of this venture is to provide ongoing data of various aircraft systems. Now, suppose they teamed with a big pipe provider-to-be, and a manufacturer of low cost, light weight IFE units. What would you have? Thats right, children, a new IFE paradigm and possibly a new vendor that really could take the single aisle market to a new place namely entertainment and connectivity! Or, you could have a very expensive piece of Vaporware.``

I would bet that the Big Pipe Provider has to be with a Broad Band wireless. The new Digesystem is supposed to have 802.11 wireless. In order to utilize this capability they need somekind of aircraft connection. Maybe ``Connexion`` maybe Row44.....but there has to be some sort of partnering involved with a yet unannounced provider. Without it it just doesn`t work.

I`m not sure this is where Terry is going with this but this is the kind of thing that would create the kind of Paradigm shift like he`s talking about. Say wasn`t it just this kind of package that was demonstrated at the CES 2 years ago. I believe Don and Frank talked with Walter and Fred at the show and came away with a similar impression (complete package with 802.11 wireless + bells and whistles) of the Ittiam player that was demo`d behind closed doors.
