One of the more interesting parts of these ``bankrupt`` legacy carriers is the debt that is carried by the second biggest company in America (after Exxon in stockmarket evaluation) and that would be General Electric. I know GE makes aircraft/PrattWhitney engins, but their credit arm would seem to function separately. Do the guys at GE think these ailing airline will make it? Then we we read about the projected increase in air traffic and passenger miles, we get the GE vision, maybe. If GM and some of the big airlines can`t meet their pension requirements, then I think the U.S. Government picks up some of the tab in the guarantees for pensions. Am I right on this? If Delta becomes Song---or what ever name and United becomes Ted, etc. the major airlines have over a period of time morphed into low cost airlines???? This is in EDIG`s best interest, I think. ORY
