Based on a conversation between you and RP, the following is an excerpt.
"There will be no license "payments". to EDig. All lawsuits, if won, will include a one time payment from the offender and EDig will issue a license, to use forever. That's it... From the latest PR, it sounds like we see a complete reversal of the prior company strategy, although not specifically stated. From yesterday's PR.......... “Our strategy is to license the use of the Flash-R portfolio,” added Putnam. “Through our legal representatives, we are engaged in licensing discussions and efforts with infringing parties" Does the above convey ongoing fees or simply a license to use our IP after a settlement is reached? As I have stated for years, a license from any infringer provides a continuous revenue stream, and if we could generate a settlement based on past and currnet years, and in addition an amount based on units or revenue or some basis, would that not be the best solution. I also tend to think that the change in strategy came from DM, not management, while in discussion with the current infringers, those present lawsuits only. |
