I'll not be surprised....because I have a fair understanding of who has what at this point, when it comes to implementing NAND flash.

What e.Digital brings to the NAND matrix pretty much brings it on par with XIP NOR(EEPROM). Prior Edig's serialized process NAND lacked ability.

I feel this to be the situation because of the way e.Digital implements the two(NOR, NAND) different matrix....they treat them the same....with equal results.

e.Digital is the first to do this. With that, NAND is easier to gain density.

IMO, e.Digital is the reason many things are happening with regard to NAND especially with Intels about face.

All you have to consider is what happened to Intels NOR platforms...they turned to NAND. In this change Intel,Micron,Lexar came together. In the early press it was said, to the effect, that Intel did not want implement NAND flash in the status quo manners for storage only. I remember those comments distinctly, because that meant one thing to me, replace XIP NOR with NAND. Then the question comes to mind... HOW? What are they going to do with NAND other than storage and some kind of translation process to make it happen? They were aware of something to make the comments as they did. IMO...they were aware of what e.Digital is capable of.

For now they are lip serving storage efforts...

Lexar does not have what e.Digital has, nor does Sandisk(Msystems). Other than those, which all seem to utilize, anything else does not matter, simple contiguous arrangements will just die off....just like Intels NOR.

We all followed it, at least I did, I know where we're at.

All Sandisk and Lexar do is translate the BIOS of MSFT into a flash environment and orchestrate the addressing.....they're not embedded OS's having variable API arrangements. They're limited!

e.Digitals patents are important, they're better than Lexar or Sandisk(Msystems)

There are a limited number of ways to make it happen with significant utility, I will not be surprised at all at what companies show up on the list.
