Competing for time and cost probably play a minor part. RP mentioned those reasons to me on one of my visits, but didn`t specify.
Moving the last fiscal quarter to Sept 30 from March 31 would be a positive move, I think. Having a single calendar quarter in a fiscal year is way out of balance.
The quarterly financials are released at the last moment in line with sec rules, I suppose their policy, however many companies release the data much earlier than required.
