May 23, 2008 – HANDHELD IFE supplier digEcor says that long standing customer Aeroflot has ordered another batch of its digEplayers with the intention of nearly doubling the number of units it has in service.
Meantime, dealing with the Utah-based company for the first time is German charter carrier Blue Wings, which will offer the digEplayer XT on two Airbus A320s from early July. “We will supply both German and Hollywood content with English, German and Russian language options,” says digEcor sales co-ordination manager Josh Rasmussen. “This variety of viewing choices meets the needs of Blue Wings’ international and local travellers.”
The digEcor customer list also includes original client Alaska Airlines, which carries digEplayer 5500s on more than 50 MD-80 twinjets, plus Hawaiian Airlines, KLM, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, SilkAir, Martinair and French premium-only operator L’Avion.
In other digEcor news, business development manager Brian Lynch has been promoted to sales VP for North and South America. His new responsibilities include expansion of the company’s content offerings.
