"This first-of-its-kind memory standard for dynamic random access memory (DRAM), named Serial Port Memory Technology (SPMT(TM)), will enable extended battery life, bandwidth flexibility, significantly reduced pin count, lower power demand and multiple ports by using a serial interface instead of the parallel interface commonly used in today's memory devices."
IMO, as a DRAM volatile working memory, there's no real gain here, there's still a process between it and storage memory, will that be serial?
Seeing they are trying to achieve a serial process, it would be interesting to know how they utilize and format the matrix within the memory, are they copying edigs principles and hand off to an ARM for audio and video?....lol
Like I said, time and time again, NOR(EEPROM) is a derivative of DRAM having a parallel process...while Nand is a serial process. e.Digital has managed to master both processes under the same principles.
