April 29, 2008 – HANDHELD IFE specialist The IMS Company is doubling its workspace, moving this week to a new 18,000 square foot facility.

Located in Brea, California, the extra space is needed to sustain the company’s growth in the portable and wireless media sectors of the IFE market, and its expansion into content and hardware for the car rental, business aviation, passenger rail and related markets.

“Our newly created entertainment and engineering groups are growing,” says chief executive Joe Renton. “The move means we can dedicate more space to our expanding content management operation, and allows for some additional staff growth to support our new activities.”

Last year the company achieved its second straight 12 months of double-digit revenue growth, chalking up a 25 per cent increase. Renton expects the trend to continue: “2008 revenues are off to a good start with an order from United Airlines, and the second quarter will see the start of deliveries to British Airways’ new OpenSkies venture.”
