Nokia launches phones for emerging markets 8th April 2008 By Staff Writer Nokia has unveiled four new mobile handsets aimed at emerging markets. The Nokia 5000, Nokia 2680 Slide, Nokia 7070 Prism, and Nokia 1680 Classic phones are expected to be available by the third quarter 2008 in the price range of $78 to $141.

The Nokia 5000 offers a 1.3 megapixel camera, a high-resolution QVGA display point, FM radio with recording functionality and MP3 ringtones. It supports email and other benefits such as Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging, Bluetooth and GPRS connectivity.

The Nokia 2680 Slide is the company's first slide device for entry markets. The camera phone includes an FM radio with recording capability, MP3 ringtones, and mobile phone features such as an expanded phone book.

The Nokia 7070 Prism offers personalized content, including themes and wallpapers, and MP3-grade ringtones. It includes a voice recorder and integrated hands-free speaker.

The Nokia 1680 Classic offers usual mobile phone functionality with a basic digital camera. The phone with VGA camera and video recording features one-touch access for photos and videos. The phone also includes phone-sharing functionality and access to email.
