Patents in the US

OZ is right.
Any product sold in the US is subject to US patents. It does not matter where the product is made if sold here.
Going the other way, not all products sold by US companies with US patents and / or International Patents (US patents are stronger) are honored in all countries.
All of the EU and most of Europe honor all US patents and most of the EU consumer product companies want US patents to protect their brands and innovations.
Guess which consumer products manufacturing giant does not honor US patents?
Yep, Communist China.
There are many efforts to kill the knock-off products in N. China today due to the coming O'Games. The knock offs will be there, the tourists will just have to ask for them. In the Southern part of China (not very Communist as they learned capitalism from The Brits) you can buy anything....and I mean anything in the most liberal sense you can imagine.
