We all know the financial state of the goodship EDigital. There are no funds to jump into a new business area, ie embedded IFE systems. There is simply too much competition out there, already established, for EDig to compete with essentially the same product.

That is unless there are calls for a much different product, less expensive, much lighter and definitely much easier to use, and install for airline manufacturers and airlines themselves.

In other words, as BOW discovered from a judge, the eVu is NOT the same product as the Digeplayer.

If EDig is entering into this field it will NOT be with a standard IFE embedded system, nor one close to it. That is not what we are told the airlines requested from EDig.

EDig would be out of its mind to attempt to compete with the heavyweights already out there with their system already installed and well financed.

I have no personal knowledge of the specifications of EDig's new IFE embedded systems but we all know that is it complete and possibly in trial runs somewhere.

This system has to be markedly different than whats out there or why would (according to RP....I know, I know) airlines and airline manufacturers ask EDig to develop something different if they already had their choices (numerous) knocking at their doors. Obviously they are not satisfied with their choices and are impressed enough with the eVu to entertain thoughts of using it in an embedded system if that system can be created and used according to their needs......

That's my opinion and I am sticking to it....
