HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2002

Intergraph Corporation (Nasdaq:INGR) announced today that the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, issued a "Markman" ruling late yesterday in the ongoing patent infringement action between Intergraph Corporation and Intel Corporation.

The "Markman" ruling establishes the scope of the patent claims and how the patent terms should be constructed or defined. A copy of the Court's "Markman" Order is available at www.intergraph.com/intel/legalpic.asp.

Intergraph filed suit in July 2001, charging Intel with infringing two Intergraph patents that define key aspects of parallel instruction computing (PIC). This patented technology was developed by Intergraph in 1992 and, according to Intergraph, is an essential component of Intel's IA-64 EPIC (explicitly parallel instruction computing) architecture, which is at the heart of Intel's Itanium chip.

The trial is currently scheduled to begin July 1, 2002, in Marshall, Texas.
