I believe someone posted on the PTSC board that 98% of IP law suits settle.

It sounds like the Alcatel-Lucent case was very similar to PTSC as both settled the week before a trial was to begin. I've been in several trademark cases and I cannot imagine why it took so long to decide to settle. By that time, a company will have spent almost all of the trial prep dollars. Who knows why folks do what they do. Maybe both sides were waiting for a blink.
