Good morning...
For Fast Track purposes, Civil cases are generally classified as General Civil, and Complex Civil which allows the Court to allocate proper amount of resources to it.
For example, EDIG v. Vivitar would entail far more Court time and resources than and resource than an automobile accident. thus it would be classified as "COMPLEX CIVIL" case. The same as class action law suits, for example.
That is why JUDGE WARD and his Rocket Docket are known for being able to handle Complex cases in the fastest time. They are set up for it, and don't tolerate shinaningans by lawyers who do not adhere to the time line strictly, or come into court unprepared.
In fact that happened in PTSC case when WARD dressed down one of the defense lawyers for not being prepared.
