Reminds me of Tinroad and doni discussing TI marketed chips with a "KERNEL" of MOS in them, as far back as CES 2000.
The idea was TI would make the chips and blanket the market, and would reffer "customers" to EDIG. Well, most of them didn't call...
Once they got the chip, they made the widgets themselves and made billions. And VIVTAR is a good example of what has taken place...
Now it is becoming clearer why DM is pursuing VIVITAR. The question is not if EDIG patenets are subject to defense of PRIOR ART, because there was nobody before EDIG that was in the market with a claim they could facilitate massive digital data transmission. EDIG was one of the founders, along with IBM, etc. of the concept.
The question is can EDIG PATENTS flow through TI to users of the chips they sold?..
SANDISK addressed part of that question, and VIVITAR is an excellent case to answer the remaining parts...
BILL...I see the picture is clearing up. BRLC the parent of VIVITAR, has lost $100 million in market value of the their shares, what you think? They should be eager to pay EDIG and get the law suit behind them shortly, and blanket the market with products made under VIVITAR BRAND to make up for the settlement...
Come on DM, give us the news of the settlement for 75 million license fee...Lol...Lol...
