Qualcomm Loses Another Legal Battle to Broadcom

In this legal battle that has lasted over 2.5 years, Qualcomm Inc. and Broadcom Corp. (BRCM: Charts, News, Offers) have been arguing over some of Qualcomm's products that allegedly infringed Broadcom's patents. The products in question are chips and software, specifically for mobile phones. The federal court decided back in May 2007 that Qualcomm was in fact infringing these patents, and awarded $19.6 million in damages to Broadcom. This week the court has decided the steps Qualcomm must take, and the additional consequences the company will face. How will Qualcomm react to this decision, and will they be able to recover from their legal loss?
