EDIG the NEXT QUALCOM article that follows descibes the reasoning of great many longs that bought into EDIG. In another month or so it will be 8 years since it was written.

Nothing has changed except that we have DM now as the ENGINEER who will fire the engine to make the train to leave the station as DON used to say...Lol...Lol...

EDIG, the next Qualcomm?

Tuesday, February 15, 2000-- Many businesses enter themselves onto the stock market. Many start out as penny stocks, and die out as penny stocks. These are also known as ?bulletin board? stocks. The 8 dollars a trade commercials you see, they do not apply for these starter stocks. You usually go through a broker or an account with a business to buy these stocks, 19 or 20 dollars a trade, usually. To be truthful, not many ?bulletin board? stocks make it to the NASDAQ listing. These are the stocks where dreams can come true. The day trader is not the usual buyer. He is one who has patience, and looks at this as a serious investment, because if the penny stock shoots up, you?re in business.

Through the history of the Stock Exchange, many of these stocks have made it, but it came overtime. One of the more famous stocks is Qualcomm. Although it was never in the penny status, it was below 15 dollars a share nearly 2-3 years ago. Now, after two splits, it is at 200. But how could one company have done so well? This is where the average Joe and the expert traders differ. Do the research, and invest wisely. That should be a quote. Maybe someday I will quote that, because it applies to most everything, not just stocks. All right, maybe more towards stocks, but it is still a good quote. So Joe got lucky, maybe got a tip, or liked QCOM, the stock symbol. But the expert trader did his research. He found out that Qualcomm owned the patents on CDMA in cellular phones. You may notice the next time you see yours that the Qualcomm symbol is on it. Also what this savvy investor knew, was that 2nd and 3rd world countries do not have an abundant source of telephone services. So obviously they would buy Qualcomm’s products, along with global 1st world countries. Basically, if you had bought 500 shares at 10.00 you would have 400,000 dollars now. That is quite an investment. An investment that started at 500 dollars could be sold for 395,000 dollars profit.

A stock that shares much of the same qualities as Qualcomm is e.Digital. E.Digital, known short by EDIG, also owns patents on its MicroOS file management system.(MicroOS?) It has a music player that plays back music downloaded from the internet and a recorder that uses MicroOS technology. Many people, who track stocks for a living, call EDIG the next Qualcomm. Some even say that it has some things Qualcomm never had, and could be even better than Qualcomm. They also state that EDIG technology will be a standard for the future. I learned about EDIG form my uncle, early January. Its price was 6.00. I considered buying it, and made up my mind that I would buy when it went down to five, figuring it would fluctuate. Well, it didn’t. Over the next week and a half, it soared to 24. I was kicking myself. Then it declined to a low point, Friday morning to 10, but finished up the day at just under 14. It is very volatile, just like Qualcomm is. The volume over the past few weeks has been enormous, reaching peaks of 10 million shares bought and sold. It is still a “bulletin board” stock, but has currently filed for a listing on the NASDAQ. It looks like a very promising future for “EDIG’ers.”

Update 2/25: EDIG has been one of the OTCBB largest volume leaders for the past few weeks. Still staying strong! Can't wait for there Nadsdaq listing!

Update 3/6: All over Raging Bull Boards. . .Position- Long; ST Rating- Strong Buy; LT Rating- Strong Buy

Update 3/23: Huge news today with SONY!!

Update: 3/30: Could be a good time to buy more shares while it is down in next few days. I am hoping it goes as low as 8.

Update 4/12: Took a hit as did NASDAQ, lets not go to NASDAQ just yet. EDIG could reach low 7's or 6's.

Update 4/13: Great news today. Just further backs up long term success.

Update 5/22: Could reach low 5's tomorow, but don't look for the MM's to let it slip below 5.

Update 5/30: O.k. o.k why did EDIG lose, -1/4 today, when the market had such a good day. Especially technology stocks. EDIG longs really tested now. Hold on tight. EDIG will bounce back . . . real soon.

Update 6/9: Wednesday after-hour trading was huge, but the rest of week was nothing more than a dragging halt. This is something we might see until NASDAQ acception. Up-and-down ride.

Update 6/16: Great start to the morning. Check out 5-day.

Update 6/22(am): Huge jump in share price so far today!! We will definitely jump avg. volume today!!! Check out FGATOR's summary post 'In The News' It is really good!

Update 6/22(am): Continued skyrocket. Could be a play by MM's, or is there going to be news tomorow? Watch for the profit takers at end of day.

Update 6/22:Excellent day. Could be news later today or tomorow, or this was just the MM's shaking things out a little, getting some shorts going. Buyers were overwhelming, volume nearly 2,000,000! Very excellent sign.

Update 6/23(am): Volume continued into the morning! After-hour trading was high, volume over a mil already!! Profit takers are a coming. Does anyone think that this resembles early January trading??

Update 6/26: Lots of profit-takers today. Demand fell, so the price fell. Look for a terrific day tomorow. Garaunteed high over 8. With the volume we have been having, something is brewing.

Update 6/27(am): Similarities between past few days, and a few weeks before EDIG blast off in January.

  • Very similar, Jun 21 volume went up 600% on the 22nd. Could this be a sign?

Update 6/28: I really don't know what happened yesterday. It looks like everyone just sat there and did not make any moves. The spread was quite large, sometimes reaching over a 1/2 difference.
Regarding letter to shareholders:
Fred Falk wrote to the shareholders stating how e.Digital has positioned itself to become a leader. Revenues up, but losses up. A good look is that Gross Profit, a loss, was substantially less than one year ago. Average number of common shares nearly doubled. The music download market is estimated to reach $1.1 Billion by 2004, according to Forrester Research. It is good stuff, read it.

Update 6/30(am,am,am): Sometime in June, when the e.Digital/Maycom music player is due out, we will see huge jump in price again. Check out FGATORS important upcoming events. Good things to come, good things to come.

Update 7/7: Sorry for all that faithfully checked back for updates to recieve none. I hope everyone enjoyed their fourth. I wrote to EDIG concerning their portable music player's price range, and I recieved:
"The first portable Internet music players incorporating e.Digital’s reference design are expected to reach the market this summer. Retail pricing and distribution is determined by our OEM customers and licensees."
Right now I recomend strongly that you put a buy order in around 5, 5 and a half. The price should fall around there within the next week. Then, when the portable internet music player comes out, the price will soar. Possibly to be followed by a NASDAQ listing. If not, as everyone here should know, the price will drop off again.

Update 7/12: Nice little run at the end of day could continue after-hours. Possibly into morning. After that, nothing much different. Put some orders to buy around 5 1/4 5 1/2. Should fall there later this week if there is no news.

Update 7/19: Just found the news about e.Digital sponsorship of NASCAR driver Mark Mitchell's entry in the Los Angeles Street Race. News about Maycom player s right around the corner. I will e-mail EDIG on when the release date will be.

Update 7/30: Just returned from my vacation. I had heard and seen how bad the Nasdaq was doing Thursday and Friday. I never knew how it could impact EDIG this much. I recently e-mailed EDIG on what happened Friday, and the future of NASDAQ listing. Will post their response. Message to investors... average down. Don't worry, if you saw The Boiler Room, don't worry, this is no "Farrowtech". Anyway, long, and buy, is my recommendation. I can't say strong buy because I have no clue with this rather poor market conditions.

Update 8/1: Check out in the news. More exposure for e.Digital is great. Watch for EDIG to bounce back rest of week.

Update 8/4: Just recieved e-mail from EDIG:
Trading temporarily below $5 does not automatically preclude a listing being approved. The dates that are most important for the share price to be at or above that level are the application date and the listing date.

There is no set time frame or deadline for the NASDAQ application process. Most applications for OTC BB companies applying for a NASDAQ listing are taking an average of four to six months to complete the process. (Some have taken less time, some more.) Based on the questions they have asked about our current relationships and business, we believe they are close to completion of the review process.

Each OEM we are working with has their own timeline for entering the Internet music industry and supporting the content that is forthcoming from the major record labels. Maycom plans to introduce the MP2000 to consumer markets under their Merit brand name in Europe this summer, as well as through other OEMs in Asia. Further details are expected to come from Maycom. As in all our dealings with OEM customers and/or licensees, it is the licensee or customer who determines the retail pricing, distribution, and launch dates for consumer products.

Update 9/4: Recent press releasings have been positive, and further back up why e.Digital has a great future. Price right now is great, could fall to 3's again, maybe 2's. Will post updates when and if I recieve any e-mails from EDIG. Until then, hold strong, and average down.

Update 9/7(am): Well, EDIG shot up to nearly seven this morning. Where has all this support come from?? No insider moves have occured in past few days. Large volume and large price increase most likely won't last too long. Could the MM's be pusing this thing up due to a possible NASDAQ listing?? We will soon find out.
Also I found pictures of the e.Digital building. Wow, it's really nice. Check it out here

Update 9/8(am): Large volume 1 mil before noon allready, and to go with it large profit takers. It should finish the day below 6. Due to the fact that there is just no more support to fill the sells.

Update 9/18: Robert Jecmen appointed to Board of Director's was another move towards NASDAQ listing, and e.Digital seriousness of getting to the top of the portable music industry.

Update 9/23: I received a letter to shareholders regarding company activities, and about the meeting, and the discussion material for the meeting. For complete letter, go here.

Update 10/9: Price at 4 a little high, watch for a drift to 3's maybe two's with no news and no support. EDIG could show some life later this month, or next month into December.

Update 10/10: Wow, the first thing that popped into my mind, was NASDAQ when I heard of 4 mil investment. Freddy felt the same way:

  • ``This investment enables us to further accelerate our growth in the burgeoning Internet device industry and strengthens our financial position,'' stated Fred Falk, president and CEO of e.Digital. ``We expect this funding to also assist us in our pending NASDAQ listing application and address the 'going concern opinion' in our financials.''
EDIG looking good, could we see a NASDAQ listing soon? Isn't this what we were saying in February??

Update 10/24:

  • SHAREHOLDER ALERT
    October 20, 2000

E.DIGITAL CORPORATION FEATURED TODAY IN ONLINE AUDIO INTERVIEW AT WALLSTREETNEWSCAST.COM

e.Digital Corporation was featured today in an online interview at WallStreetNewsCast.com. The interview with president and CEO Fred Falk and Senior Vice President Robert Putnam focuses on the company's patented MicroOS(tm) technology, recent DataPlay announcement and other related opportunities for the company in the Internet music industry and other portable device industries. To hear the interview, click on the following URL:

Update 10/27: :( Man what a dissapointment. NASDAQ denies EDIG application. Watch for large decrease over weekend to open on Monday, and continued thru next week. Then jump on the low price, in the 2's, probably.

Update 10/30: The spooking came a little early on All Hollow's Eve. Price will descend more tomorow. Check out 'In The News'.
From shareholder letter:

  • Nasdaq stated that the only reason that we were denied a listing was because of the company's current failure to satisfy the minimum bid price requirement for initial inclusion.
  • EDIG met or exceeded that for many months during the application review process. As to the extraordinary length of the review, they stated to us that this has been an unusual year in the number of applications that they have had to process, ours included.

Update 11/5: Great support to finish week. Shows how people are really longs. All the shorts are shuffled out.
