If you read the article they were not pleased with the rate of rentals on their short flights, but they were meeting expectations on their longer flights( > 2hr duration)

One problem they sited was that the content was only available in English and being a European carrier, that was a problem.

SO, they now are trying content in multiple languages and have dropped the rental price.
