Alaska Air applies to DOT for Mexico City flights (ALK) By August Cole

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Alaska Airlines, owned by Alaska Air Group (ALK) , said after the bell Wednesday that it is seeking permission from the Department of Transportation to fly to Mexico City from the United States. The company said it wants to fly from Seattle to Los Angeles to Mexico City and from Portland, Ore. to Los Angeles to Mexico City, the Seattle-based airline said.
