My son just called and he is headed to SoCal as a Smoke Jumper from the Portland, OR area.   He said the big guys are claiming there are now some large occupied areas that have the potential to be surounded by fire.  Obviously, not a good thing.

I still have not heard from Marine Master Sargent Bro-in-Law in San Diego, but I suspect he can take of himself.
