As far as the consumption goes, it relates to a composition that is already patented.....that being their manner of cache and bit stream delivery.

The monitoring aspects are new applications. It may be that they are some what already covered by existing patents. They may need to patent a hardware arrangement that  complements a software boundary,  for a full firmware(hardware and software) set.
